Moving Around Malabar

As an effort to get in shape my friend April and I are walking every week, cutting calories, doing aerobics (on trampolines) and even hiking! A few weeks ago she took me to a place in Ohio where she grew up- about an hour away, near Malabar Farms.

She was full of amazing stories about this place- owned by famous people, a farm that is self sustaining year round, acres and acres of beauty, ghost/horror stories, Shawshank the movie was filmed there, Humphrey Bogart was married there... this place is full of history, and beauty. I was instantly taken with the muddy hike the first time and while we did get a bit lost turned around, we still had a wonderful time.

We talked about doing it again and brought some friends in- they all seemed interested so we decided to drive up with three other friends and try to not get lost finish the trail we attempted the first time. We set a pretty good pace at first and had an awesome time. We only went about 6 miles this time (instead of 10 the trail was) but had a blast. At one point we had to cross a creek!

Check out the photos and you'll see... this place is stunning.
"Is that the bottom of a TREE??" Yes- it was
